About Me

Hi! I’m Kevin Cunningham. I’m a web designer and developer. In the early 90s I worked for Dalhousie University as a digital imaging specialist. The National Center for Supercomputing Applications released a browser, Mosaic, for the web in 1993. I was hooked. Having just developed several courseware apps using multimedia software the web showed great promise to replace those development processes.

Technology, the internet and the web have always interested me. I’m a gadget freak, an early adopter and I love learning new things.

I build websites for organizations, sports associations, restaurants, and small to medium sized businesses. Many of my clients are family businesses. I feel privileged to be associated with so many great companies and groups.

Custom coding is sometimes necessary. However it costs a lot and will eventually break. I prefer off-the-shelf wherever possible. It leverages a larger user base, it’s constantly fixed, improved and supported.

How can I help you?

If you need a website to showcase and grow your business, I can build it. My philosophy is to build sites using proven technology. I don’t reinvent the wheel. I bring together great design, proven applications and top notch servers to build pretty much any type of site. Unless you want to build the next InstaBook, I can build it for you.

I’ll take your ideas and make a site that works, looks great and is easily supported. Drop me a line and I can tell you how we can get started.

Why should you work with me?

  • I’m passionate about every project I take on.
  • I’ve got years of experience.
  • I know how to bring the right technology together to get the job done.
  • I love to learn new things.

A few other things about me.

I’m a husband and father. I like woodworking, sailing, fishing and try to run at a reasonable pace. I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia and like to travel but not so much lately.

Although I’ve always had a toe in the web world, I spent quite a few years in the printing industry. I partnered with some great people and started one of Canada’s first fully digital printing service bureaus, Image House Digital.

I’ve taught digital imaging at NSCC and NSCAD. I’ve given seminars on colour management, digital photography and Photoshop workflows.

I love things that plug in, have buttons and lights and big manuals that I rarely read. I was very lucky in my early career to be able to beta test and own some of the first colour printers, scanners and digital cameras.

My latest hobby blends my love of gadgets with woodworking and audio systems. I’m building my second set of speakers and love it.
